As of the 25th of March 2026, the Tooleybuc Bistro is officially re-open! After what feels like forever, the renovations are finally complete, and the Bistro is fully operational with a new look and a delicious new menu.

Our newly refreshed bistro is now open under new management, bringing an exciting new dining experience to the Tooleybuc Sporting Club. With a brand-new menu showcasing a delicious range of classic Aussie favourites, there’s something to suit every taste. Whether you’re stopping in for a relaxed lunch, enjoying a hearty dinner with family and friends, or grabbing a convenient takeaway meal, our bistro offers quality, flavour, and great service.

Along with the grand re-opening of the Bistro, the Poon Boon Room renovations are complete and is now ready for bookings! The Poon Boon Room has been refreshed and is now a modern function room available for any occasion! Perfect for birthdays, celebrations, conferences, and more, the Poon Boon Room can accommodate groups up to 80 people and has facilities such as large screen TV’s available for use. The Tooleybuc Sporting Club offers catering and our flexible staff will work with you to create the event tailored to your needs.

Meet the team!
Open under new management, the Tooleybuc Bistro has welcomed a new kitchen manager, Craig Dacey, and 2 new chefs, Aliza and Hebin, to join the crew!
Hebin Thapa
Hebin has recently joined us from Melbourne, Victoria. He has over 6 year’s experience working in Italian and Modern Australian Restaurants, including fine dining Italian restaurants in Melbourne.
He has completed his Certificate IV in Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management and Advanced Diploma of Hospitality. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Hospitality Management.
Hebin enjoys cooking pasta and steak dishes. When asked what he enjoys outside of work, he answered ‘experiencing new recipes and improving my cooking skills’, now that’s a dedicated chef!
Hebin looks forward to further developing his skills and contributing to the success of the team. His favourite thing about Tooleybuc Sporting Club so far is the team environment and the positive feedback from customers.
Aliza Gurung
Originally from Nepal, Aliza has moved to Tooleybuc from Melbourne, Victoria where she begun working in the hospitality industry. She started off at the Melbourne Zoo in 2022, what a fantastic first job!
Since then, she has completed the Certificate IV in Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Hospitality Management which she is excited to finish in August this year.
Aliza particularly enjoys preparing multicultural cuisines, she is passionate about diverse flavours and learning new cooking techniques. When Aliza is not in the kitchen, she loves to read books and listen to music to help her stay relaxed and inspired. She also loves trying different meals and is very passionate about food.
Aliza looks forward to further developing her career as a Chef, she has made tremendous progress over the last few weeks, and we are eager to see what her future at the Tooleybuc Sporting Club holds. Aliza states that she truly appreciates the friendly and supportive team environment that she has encountered already at the Tooleybuc Club.
